Hi ! Does anyone know if the bag was too given free when we buy the album (like the Wish bag) ? I own it but I don't really know where does it come from. Thanks in advance. :) regards / Rod x

The Black Folder with silver The Cure font belongs to The Head on the Door Germany Promo Lp.

Nice bag though, seems The Cure in France had some wonderful promotional items over the years. Nevertheless, it would be almost impossible without manufacturer proof that these bags were produced via Fiction. Which record stores distributed them? Were they large franchises or small independent shops. Sukiac I believe you propose an important question, "who paid for these to be made?" In Australia, I never saw these ever. Wish Chris Parry could do a Q & A for us.

Bonjour Rod x ... You are right to doubt the distribution and provenance of this "promotional bag" (sic) I knew the release of this album, "THOTD" and others ... and bought in France without these bags ... while the record store was a friend ... I'm sure they were distributed commercially to the purchase of the album or any other discs or objects in UK and I think also in Germany ... even Holland (?) ... but nothing official because these bags could be made by the record dealers themselves to create competition ... What I do not believe at all is that they are part of the official promotional items sent to all the media staff - radios - TV - etc ... Wholesalers and distributors in these countries had a lot of them ... I suppose forgotten in the funds of shops ... I found many in the major European fairs by stacks of 10 (to remain modest!) ... I bought and sold a number too ... What I also believe is that you should not get carried away on everything that accompanies the promotion of a disc ... Chris Parry and Polydor would be surprised !!! ... Best regards.
